Fujifilm FinePix XP30 Review
Reviews for this camera are mixed. This happens frequently with point and shoot camera reviews as folks have their own opinions on what features are the most liked. The majority of people were happy with the quality of the images made possible by the combination of the Fujinon lens and the 12 megapixel CCD. The zoom range of the lens was also thought to be a useful feature. There were several reviewers who had problems with the waterproof housing, however, reporting that after a short time of use in wet conditions water was able to enter the camera. Another plus point for the camera is its large viewing screen which makes it very easy to achieve the best composition.
A minor niggle which was mentioned by a couple of reviewers was that the LCD screen dims quite quickly. This is a common problem with many point and shoot digital cameras and can be the cause of many missed shots, particularly in bright light conditions when it is more difficult to see most camera screens clearly and composition of a shot takes a little bit of time.
Whilst the Fujifilm Finepix XP30 might not be the best point and shoot digital camera, it also isn’t the most expensive. It received many positive comments regarding its rugged construction and for the performance of its lens. It does have some design features which might have been more of an issue in a more expensive camera but can be forgiven when one remembers the price of this model. It certainly should be on your short list of point and shoot digital cameras if you want a tough unit that can withstand a few knocks and bumps.
